This Independent Completion Review (ICR) evaluates the Telecommunications and ICT Development Program in Solomon Islands, which ran from August 2010 to March 2015.
The Program was implemented by the World Bank Group with DFAT providing financial support of AUD4.8 million. The objective was to facilitate increased access to a wide variety of reliable and affordable telecommunications services for the majority of the Solomon Islands population, through efficient and well-regulated competition. More broadly, the Program aimed to improve connectivity, an important development enabler in a fragile state seeking to achieve economic recovery and improved social cohesion.
Overall, the ICR found that the Program successfully achieved its intended outcomes.
