ASEAN–Australia Development Cooperation Program Phase II Annual Review 2014

AADCP II is a long-term ($57 million, 2008-19) program that aims to support the goals of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The program provides high quality economic research and policy advice in priority economic sectors including investment, trade-in-services, and consumer protection in the region. The 2014 Annual Review found that the program has helped develop a better evidence and knowledge base for regional policy making and regulation of the AEC, and supported the development of norms and standards required in a new AEC. The program has also supported ASEAN with its goal of 'narrowing the development gap' with less developed member states, including by increasing understanding of the concepts, benefits and opportunities of the AEC.
