Reporting under the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination

Australia is a party to the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (CERD). By ratifying a treaty, a country voluntarily accepts legal obligations under international law. Australia's obligations under CERD include regular reporting requirements.

CERD Reporting

On 2 February 2016 DFAT submitted Australia's combined 18th, 19th and 20th reports under CERD.

The Committee issued its Concluding Observations on Australia’s combined 18th, 19th, and 20th reports on 26 December 2017.

On 7 December 2018 Australia submitted a follow-up to concluding observations 16(c), 26(c) and 31(b).
