This document is a progress report on ten activities funded under the South Asia Water and Sanitation Initiative in India.

Activities funded are:

  • benefit assessment of continuous water supply in KUWASIP demonstration zones
  • technical assistance to MoUD on public-private partnerships in urban sewerage infrastructure
  • identification and evaluation of implementation options for the National Urban Sanitation Policy
  • assessment of gender issues in urban water supply and sanitation
  • monitoring and evaluation framework for WSI; study of PPP opportunities in achieving long-term sustainability of rural water supply and sewerage in Punjab
  • transaction advisory services for public-private partnerships for rural water supply schemes in Andhra Pradesh
  • supporting innovations and capacity-building for Ganga clean-up and conservation
  • Kerala solid waste management scoping
  • preparation of an institutional development program for rural WSS sector institutions in the State of Uttarakhand, India.

Progress reporting includes context and objectives, activities and outputs, outcomes, progress, meeting the objectives of the trust fund and additional funds leveraged.
