Summary of publication

The report provides a review of current and past projects supported by SPIM, an overview over the approach, key findings and recommendations on the future of the SPIM facility, including strategic directions for support. This is the first review of SPIM after it started operating as a grants mechanism in 2006. Its findings and recommendations include:

1. strategic value of SPIM
2. more coherent project selection and sectoral focus
3. expanding the spectrum of partners
4. more robust results monitoring
5. expand staff and resources for engagement and oversight
6. knowledge retention and aggregation
7. expand level of resources.
