Description

This report presents the results of Australia's aid to Nauru in 2009, including the initial outcomes of the Nauru-Australia Partnership for Development, signed by the President of Nauru, Marcus Stephen and the Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd on 7 August 2009.

In past years, the results of Australia's aid to Nauru have been set out in the Annual Program Planning Report (APPR). This is the first Partnership for Development report. It includes key successes across the sectors in 2009 as well as the progress of the following Priority Outcomes:

• Priority Outcome 1-Improved public sector management
• Priority Outcome 2-Improved education
• Priority Outcome 3-A cost-effective health system which delivers improved health outcomes
• Priority Outcome 4-Reliable and cost effective provision of essential infrastructure and services.
