This document sets out funding arrangements between the Governments of Australia and the Philippines for the BRACE Risk Analysis Project.
Risks from natural disasters have to be better understood so that they can be better managed. The risk analysis component will build knowledge partnerships between Philippines and Australian science agencies. This will be done through using state of the art technology to analyse and understand the risk from floods, severe winds and earthquakes in Manila. The availability of risk information will allow local government to prepare better land use plans and properly targeted investment programs. The activity is the first component under the BRACE Program. This agreement signed in November 2010 outlines the roles and responsiblities of the Australian and Philippines Governments.
