Australian-Indonesian Fast Track Film Co-Production Initiative

Over the last three years the Australian Government has supported Screenwest’s Australia-Indonesia Fast Track Initiative, enabling exchanges between the Australian and Indonesian film professionals to develop films for co-production.

The Initiative brings together the best key creatives from both countries to fast-track opportunities for feature film and television co-productions from the ideas stage to full production.

Project description

The Australian-Indonesia Fast Track Initiative is in its final year of a three-year Australian Cultural Diplomacy multi-year grant. Over the last two years, Screenwest has designed a development program for established filmmakers interested in creating projects that focus on Australia and Indonesia. One element of this project was to pair six of the best key creatives and film professionals from both Indonesia and Australia to accelerate the potential for feature film and television co-productions from the ideas stage to full production.

The project builds on cross-cultural film collaborations that have been initiated by the Australian Embassy in Jakarta and the Initiative has helped to dramatically accelerate the potential of successful film collaboration between Australia and Indonesia.
