Ms Shea is a career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and was most recently Deputy Head of Mission in Mauritius.

She speaks French, and has a Bachelor of Education from University of Canberra, a Master of International Leadership from Australian Catholic University and a Master of International Affairs from The Australian National University.
