Project description:
Transitioning to net-zero emissions has become a priority for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Australian governments, urging their business communities to pursue more sustainable business models.
This grant seeks to bring together representatives from the UAE and Australian governments and business leaders to discuss how they can create business value and sustainable impact that are enabled by innovation and technology.
The expected outcomes from this project are 1) organizing a series of high-level workshops and roundtables in Dubai and Melbourne that bring together Australian and UAE policymakers, business leaders and technology-driven start-ups to discuss how cross-sectoral partnerships can expand Investment in Climate-Tech between Australia and the UAE; 2) producing a white paper that documents the necessary regulatory frameworks that would facilitate market access opportunities for Australian businesses to form joint-ventures with their UAE counterparts, and 3) presenting the findings of the whitepaper at the 2023 U.N. Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 28) in Dubai Expo City where a 'Green-Tech' joint pitch day by Australian and UAE start-ups will be organized to feature innovative ideas for tackling climate change.
