Publication Summary
The Australian Government, through the Australia PNG Economic Partnership, has commissioned this landmark study into PNG’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and informal sector. The survey of more than 2,600 businesses across 21 provinces, builds on a 2014 baseline survey. Data was collected between 10 and 30 July 2024 to draw conclusions about changes in the MSME landscape, strengths and weaknesses of MSME operation, and the growth of formalisation within the informal sector in PNG over the last ten years.
