Sector: Cross art-form (film, music, visual art)
Grantee: Tuti Arts
Project description
"Say No More" is the world premiere of a new cross art-form work devised and presented by a team of new, emerging and established disabled and non-disabled women artists from Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia. Say No More brings 26 women artists from Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia together to share truths, debunk myths and expose the lies of being women. Audiences will experience films, music and art installations which unravel very particular intimate personal stories of struggle, defeat, triumph, and survival within a highly unusual nuptial setting, and performances which reveal how marriage influences and shapes the social and cultural circumstances of women. As a multicultural, multi arts event created by women artists with and without a disability, Say No More is accessible to the widest possible audience.
