Independent Mid-Term Evaluation of TRIANGLE In ASEAN

The Australian Government launched the Tripartite Action to Enhance the Contribution of Labour Migration to Growth and Development (TRIANGLE) in Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Program in 2015. The program is implemented in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and co-managed with Global Affairs Canada (GAC).

TRIANGLE in ASEAN promotes safe and fair migration within the ASEAN region and ensures that the benefits of labour migration are equally realised by men and women migrant workers, employers and governments. The program engages with all ASEAN Member States at the regional level and delivers national activities in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand. The program involves participation by governments, employers, workers and Civil Society Organisations in the implementation of regional and national activities.

An Independent Mid-Term Evaluation (IMTE) of the program was completed in May 2019. The findings of the Evaluation validate DFAT’s own assessments of ILO as an effective implementing partner and that TRIANGLE in ASEAN is a fit-for-purpose program delivering results. DFAT will continue to work closely with ILO to ensure implementation of the evaluation’s recommendations.
