J-PAL SEA Phase 2 Completion Report

Summary

DFAT provided a core funding for the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab Southeast Asia (J-PAL SEA) for strengthening evidence-informed policy making related to poverty reduction and development within government, donor, and private sector partners in Indonesia in two phases from 2013 to 2022. To achieve this goal, J-PAL SEA conducts randomized evaluations, builds partnerships for evidence-informed policymaking through policy outreach and capacity building and support partners scale up effective programs. J-PAL SEA works with governments and non-governments partners on a wide range of sectors such as social protection, migration, health, good governance and financial inclusion. This completion report highlights J-PAL SEA success stories, challenges and lessons learned from 2018- 2022. The report highlights the critical importance of investing in impact evaluation studies and policy outreach to inform effective policymaking process.
