The Tasmania State Office helps DFAT maintain strong links with the community. We provide a range of services in support of our Portfolio Ministers and Parliamentary Secretary, and participate in international relations and trade with local business, academia and NGOs.

We assist the Tasmanian Government in its overseas endeavours and assist the general public with consular services as required.

We also make sure that the Australian Government is in touch with the needs of Tasmanian businesses and industry by encouraging trade links, promoting trade liberalisation (including bilateral and multilateral trade agreements) and facilitating participation on trade missions.

We can arrange for someone from the department or our office to address your school, business, organisation or community group on foreign policy, trade negotiations, consular services and careers in the department. Please email dfat.tasmania@dfat.gov.au for more information and follow us on Twitter @DFATTas
