Summary
This document outlines the AusAID-World Bank Group Partnership Framework.
Description
On 23 September 2011, Australian Foreign Minister, Kevin Rudd, and World Bank President, Robert Zoellick, signed the Partnership Framework between AusAID and the World Bank Group.
Under An Effective Aid Program for Australia, more Australian development assistance will be delivered through multilateral partners who achieve results. The World Bank is already one of Australia's largest development partners. In 2010-11 funding to the World Bank reached $575.4 million, larger than the Indonesia bilateral program.
The Partnership Framework outlines the purpose of, and structures for, managing the partnership; principles of engagement; priority areas of collaboration; public awareness activities; as well as implementation and monitoring arrangements for the partnership.
