Australia provided an estimated AUD357 million Official Development Assistance to Indonesia in 2016-17. Of this, approximately AUD294.2 million is bilateral funding managed by DFAT. Through our economic partnership with Indonesia we are trialling approaches that can be taken to scale, helping Indonesia get better outcomes from its own spending and leveraging funds from other development partners and the private sector to expand the impact of our programs. We are helping women and marginalised groups participate in Indonesia's economy and society, and addressing the high inequality which threatens Indonesia's growth and stability.
This report provides an assessment of DFAT's success in delivering assistance against the three objectives of our Aid Investment Plan 2015-2019: (1) effective economic institutions and infrastructure, (2) human development for a productive and healthy society, and (3) an inclusive society through effective governance.
