Summary of publication
The research project examines the role played by Timorese Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) in creating demand for, and improving accountability of, health services in Timor-Leste. The study outlines the programming focus, coverage, capacity and potential role of local NGOs in the fields of demand creation and accountability, and is focused on demand creation and accountability work in the areas of reproductive, maternal, and child health, and nutrition. The study explores qualitatively three aspects of the work being undertaken by NGOs: i) Approaches (including project implementation context); ii) Capacity & Resources; and iii) Partnerships & Coordination.
