A 2012 evaluation of an Australian-funded police program in Vanuatu.
Description
The Vanuatu Australia Police Project (VAPP) began in 2011, building on the previous program of support to the Vanuatu Police Force. The VAPP is funded by Australia's aid program and implemented by the Australian Federal Police (AFP). It is scheduled for completion in 2014, with the design of future support for law and justice in Vanuatu is underway.
This Independent Progress Report was written in 2012 and reviews the VAPP for its effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability. The review team sought to capture progress and lessons from the first year of implementation of the VAPP, provide evidence to inform key management decisions regarding future assistance, and derive lessons that will be of wider relevance to the Australian Government.
