Deployable Power Restoration capability

The Australian Government’s Deployable Power Restoration capability deploys to the Pacific and works alongside local power utilities to restore power following a disaster.

Their role can include:

  • disconnecting fallen lines from poles
  • clearing debris for safe re-construction of power lines
  • re-erecting fallen poles or installing new poles
  • re-stringing power lines or stringing new power lines
  • re-installing fallen transformers or installing new ones
  • re-installing customer service lines/ installing new ones
  • installing generators.
