Meet our 2019 grantees
Sector: Education
Country location: Australia
Grantee: Insearch Limited
Project description
The scholarships for former North Korean students (now living in South Korea) promote bilateral relations between Korea and Australia, the building of partnerships, and increasing Australia's capacity to engage with Korea. These scholarships are offered through the collaboration of UTS Insearch, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through Its Australia-Korea Foundation, and the Ministry of Unification, South Korea. The scholarships assist former North Korean students by offering them the opportunity to increase their English language skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking to enhance their education, career options and ability to engage globally. The scholarships provide up to 30 weeks of high-quality English language tuition in Sydney for five former North Korean students.
