Nauru Public Sector Reform Partnership Investment Review and Management Response

Summary of publication

This document details the October 2018 strategic end of term review of the Nauru Public Sector Reform Partnership Investment.

The Partnership, which has run since 2009 has seen total investment of almost $40 million over 10 years under the Australian bilateral program. The review, which covers the period from 2014 to 2018, assesses the investment funding of approximately $6.3 million in ODA expenditure and a further $15,000,000 investment in the Nauru Intergenerational Trust Fund.

Given the context and scope of Australia's PSM support in Nauru, the review is limited to DFAT PSM investments since 2014, with a focus on the technical assistance aid modality (PACTAM2 program) utilised by DFAT and the areas of support provided by this modality. Essentially the review focuses within the scope of PFM and related technical assistance in the Nauru Intergenerational Trust Fund.

The review, conducted over the period March to June 2018, supports DFAT's improved performance and strategic planning in the public financial management sector, under the wider Nauru Aid program.

The DFAT management response to the report findings is also available below.
