Summary of publication

This report presents the findings of an independent review on the progress of implementation of the Philippines Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Contribution implemented over 2012-2014. The report also provides recommendations for improvement of project implementation until completion and for developing future ECCD programs.

The Australian Government provided AUD7.82 million to fund the UNICEF Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Contribution Agreement implemented from 2012-2016 through UNICEF's Seventh Country Programme for Children (CPC-7). It represents a major investment towards furthering the shared objectives of the Australian Government and UNICEF in advancing comprehensive programming approaches to early childhood education and in improving the school readiness of 3-5 years old boys and girls.
