Description

This document reports on the Secretariat of the Pacific Community's Corporate Plan implementation, cross-cutting development activities, and divisional activities for 2010 (Part 1). Part 2 provides the Secretariat's 2010 financial statements.

The report highlights the following Secretariat of the Pacific Community achievements in 2010:

  • joint country strategies approved for Samoa and French Polynesia, with missions completed for Fiji, Guam and Vanuatu.
  • in June 2010 the Council of Regional Organisations in the Pacific agreed to joint missions and joint strategies for regional cooperation with each country.
  • draft minimum core set of indicators developed to track development progress in SPC work areas, and input provided to the Pacific Millennium Development Goals tracking report.
  • agreement on Vanuatu Country Office with Government of Vanuatu.
  • revised organisation structure and new management and reporting arrangements, which aligned SPC service delivery with the development outcomes it aims to achieve (human and social development; sustainable natural resource management and development; and sustainable economic development)

The report also describes the Secretariat's work on cross-cutting issues and divisional activities during 2010.
Part 2 provides detailed financial reporting, including expenditure by source, activity and division.
