Humanitarian policy and partnerships
The Australian Government’s Deployable Power Restoration capability deploys to the Pacific and works alongside local power utilities to restore power following a disaster.
Their role can include:
- disconnecting fallen lines from poles
- clearing debris for safe re-construction of power lines
- re-erecting fallen poles or installing new poles
- re-stringing power lines or stringing new power lines
- re-installing fallen transformers or installing new ones
- re-installing customer service lines/ installing new ones
- installing generators.
