Meet our 2019 grantees
Sector: Arts and Culture
Country location: Australia, Republic of Korea
Grantee: Artspace Visual Arts Centre
Project description
Artspace, in partnership with the Gwangju Biennale, will present a new exhibition of works from leading Korean and Australian artists for the Pavilion Project 2020, co-curated by Alexie Glass-Kantor, Artspace, and Sunjung Kim, Gwangju Biennale.
The Pavilion Project, series of satellite exhibitions from leading international institutions, occupies historic and cultural locations across the city of Gwangju. This exhibition would include significant new works from internationally acclaimed Australian and Korean artists, to examine the cultural and economic realities within both countries. This would include artists such as Kim Beom and Minouk Lim as well as First-Nations Australian artist Daniel Boyd, working with the political and social import of constructed spaces, urbanism and industry.
