Summary of publication
This independent review assesses the progress of activities delivered through the Australia Indonesia Partnership for Justice - Phase 2 (AIPJ2), which commenced in April 2017 and aims to contribute to a stronger and more accessible justice system in Indonesia.
Conducted at the mid-point of the current phase, this review assesses program performance thus far and considers whether adjustments are needed to maximise AIPJ2 value through to its conclusion in March 2022. The review finds AIPJ2 to be an effective investment that mobilises the longstanding and positive relationship between the Governments of Australia and Indonesia in advancing Indonesia’s law and justice reform priorities. The flexible design has enabled AIPJ2 to respond to Indonesia’s evolving priorities and needs, while support to local civil society partners has positively influenced government reforms.
