In August 2022, DFAT commissioned an independent Mid-Term Review of the ASEAN-Australia Counter-Trafficking program (ASEAN-ACT) to assess the program for relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and contractor performance. The Review assessed program implementation between November 2018 to June 2022.

DFAT welcomes the findings and recommendations of the Review, which were on balance, positive and confirmed that ASEAN-ACT is highly relevant, delivering value for money and on track to meet its end of program outcomes. DFAT agrees or partially agrees with all fifteen of the recommendations which will be addressed in a phased approach.
