Joint Committee meetings
The first joint committee meeting of the Australia-Chile Free Trade Agreement was held in Santiago on 26 May 2011. Key representatives from the Department of Foreign and Affairs Trade in Canberra and the Australian Embassy in Chile participated in the discussions with Chilean officials. Both parties acknowledged the high quality of the FTA concluded between Australia and Chile and significant efforts made on cooperation since the treaty entered into force in 2009.
The second joint committee meeting of the Australia-Chile Free Trade Agreement was held at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Canberra on 3 October 2014. Senior level officials from both delegations agreed that the AClFTA was a highly effective FTA and acknowledged that the economic relationship between Australia and Chile had grown year on year since entry into force of the FTA.
