About us
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) offers services to Australians overseas through a network of diplomatic and consular missions. DFAT also maintains a domestic network of offices in state and territory capital cities to help advance Australia's foreign policy, trade and development interests.
DFAT's Western Australia State Office helps advance the department’s economic security and business engagement agenda, including a focus on Australia’s economic recovery, supply chain resilience and trade expansion programs. We make sure that the Australian Government is in touch with the needs of Western Australian businesses and industry by encouraging trade links and promoting trade liberalisation (including bilateral and multilateral trade agreements).
The State Office also provides a range of services in support of our Portfolio Ministers; assists the Government of Western Australia in its international endeavours; engages with Western Australian business, academia and community; and assists the general public, where needed, with consular services.
