The Australia-China Council (ACC) was established by the Australian Government in 1978 to promote mutual understanding and foster people-to-people relations between Australia and China. For more than forty years, the Council was at the forefront of our nation’s expanding ties to China.
In 2019, the Australian Government announced the establishment of a new and innovative National Foundation for Australia-China Relations to strengthen understanding and engagement between the two countries.
The new Foundation builds on the 40 year legacy of the Australia-China Council. The 2018-19 Australia-China Council grants round was the final grants round for the Council.
